[TV Daily Kim Ji-Ha Reporter] Band KIK has released a new single, 'Piece of Peace', in collaboration with Thailand's popular band Dept today (16th) at noon.
This track comes about four months after the release of 'AH', included in the Mint Paper compilation album last August. It marks KIK's first official collaboration with an overseas artist. 'Piece of Peace' beautifully combines the soft texture of dream pop with the energetic warmth of pop-rock, delivering a message of 'small peace' amidst complex daily life.
The collaboration arose during 'Vision Bangkok 2025', organized by MPMG Music with support from the Korea Creative Content Agency. After Dept performed at the festival in 2024 and KIK took the stage in 2025, their mutual interest in each other’s music blossomed, leading to this collaborative effort. The teaser video released on the 14th showcased members playing together through a concept of 'video chatting', capturing the warmth and harmony that the track conveys.
The track 'Piece of Peace' delivers deep emotions and a warm message through the harmonious blend of dream pop and pop-rock. The unique musical identities of both KIK and Dept combine to create an innovative collaboration that transcends global music boundaries, providing fans with a significant experience.
This collaboration serves as an excellent example of mutual connection and cooperation within the Asian music scene. By working with Dept, KIK opens up opportunities to establish their musical identity in the Thai market, which can greatly enhance their range through collaborations with various overseas artists.
In the current landscape where Korean artists are actively expanding internationally, the collaboration between the two bands appears to be a natural progression. KIK’s upcoming EP promises to bring even more diverse musical explorations, and the successful completion of this partnership may lead to an expanded global fan base.
