The new headquarters will include various cultural facilities in Godeok Business Valley.
This project aims to provide new cultural experiences to local residents and tourists.
On April 15, the Gangdong district officially completed its approval for the construction of JYP Entertainment's new headquarters, including plans for an open cultural and recreational space for local residents.
Situated in the heart of the Godeok Business Valley, the JYP headquarters will be jointly designed by Yoo Hyun-jun & Partners and Samwoo Architects, covering an area of about 10,000㎡ with a total floor area of approximately 69,259㎡. With five basement floors and 17 above-ground floors, construction is set to start in the second half of the year after passing traffic studies and essential regulatory approvals.
The headquarters will feature large practice rooms, an auditorium for artists, and office spaces, along with a 800-seat performance venue and photo zones for public use. This cultural-recreational space aims to foster a shared cultural experience between local residents and tourists, establishing Gangdong as a new cultural landmark.
The establishment of JYP's new headquarters is seen as a significant milestone in the Korean entertainment industry. Not only will this facility provide optimal working conditions for JYP artists, but it will also play a pivotal role in offering high-quality cultural content experiences to local residents. Consequently, it is expected that this project will positively impact the local economy and contribute to the revitalization of businesses in Gangdong.
Moreover, the Godeok Business Valley, which includes the JYP headquarters, is envisioned to develop into a key area where culture and tourism converge. Through diverse cultural programs and events, it has the potential to attract both domestic and international tourists, paving the way for a sustainable economic model that thrives on job creation and local business enhancement. This initiative will not only stimulate employment but also solidify Gangdong's status as a hub of Hallyu.
As emphasized by Gangdong's mayor, Lee Soo-hee, creating cultural spaces that are easily accessible to local residents is crucial. Thanks to this positive approach, the JYP headquarters is likely to become a platform for engaging with the public, thereby laying the groundwork for Gangdong to develop into an even more global K-Culture city.
