[TVDaily] NCT member Mark has decided to part ways with SM Entertainment, ending all NCT activities. On April 3, SM Entertainment announced that, after extensive discussions, they have agreed to conclude Mark's exclusive contract effective April 8. This means Mark will no longer participate in activities with NCT 127 and NCT DREAM. The agency reflected on Mark's decade-long career, expressing gratitude for the milestones he achieved during his time with the group.

Following discussions with Mark, SM will move forward with NCT 127 consisting of seven members: Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Haechan, while NCT DREAM will continue with six members: Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. SM has pledged ongoing support for all NCT members and assured fans of their dedication to the group’s future challenges.

The ending of Mark's contract represents a significant milestone in the relationship between NCT and its fandom. Having been a core member since the group's inception, Mark's influence has shaped NCT's journey. Considering his prominent role, maintaining trust with fans during this transition is crucial, and the agency has highlighted its respect for his decision while cherishing his legacy.

NCT 127 and NCT DREAM will now operate with 7 and 6 members, respectively, focusing on strategies to fill Mark's absence and develop creative content. Fans are maintaining high expectations, which could positively impact the group's future endeavors.

Typically, a member's departure can lead to unrest among fans; however, due to NCT's diverse membership and multiple units, there is an anticipation of an adaptive reception to this change. Mark's new journey might stimulate the evolution of NCT, fostering independent activities while still honoring the group's collaborative spirit.
