[TV Daily Reporter Kim Ji-ha] As BTS’s Gwanghwamun concert coincides with the spring season, Jung-gu has made preparations to welcome domestic and international tourists. The Jung-gu Office (Mayor Kim Gil-sung) conducted a thorough cleaning in Myeongdong on the 18th to enhance the appeal of this popular destination.

That day, 22 media poles and 2 follow-up media in Myeongdong displayed a purple video welcoming “BTS and ARMY.” The color purple symbolizes the fandom ARMY, and this video will continue until the 22nd.

The newly installed 'media poles' in Myeongdong integrate smart technology into public facilities, providing various features such as digital screens, CCTV, and emergency bells, offering valuable experiences to tourists. This initiative not only helps create a welcoming atmosphere in Myeongdong but also emphasizes cleanliness. Around 200 residents and merchants participated in the cleaning, focusing on tidying up the main street for one hour starting at 9 AM.

The thorough cleaning in Myeongdong effectively conveys a clear message, reinforcing the warmth of welcoming BTS and their fans, ARMY. Given that this effort takes place in a prominent area where BTS content resonates, it's expected to deepen the connection with fans.

The media poles, linked with smart city technologies, serve a purpose beyond mere celebration; they enrich the tourist experience. They play a vital role in providing a safe and convenient environment for visitors, and there's great potential for this to be replicated in other regions in the future.

Lastly, the large-scale cleaning, involving local residents, exemplifies their love for Myeongdong, potentially improving the image of this tourist site while enhancing community solidarity. Such collaboration could also significantly contribute to local development.
