CORTIS Makes Another Entry on Billboard 200
CORTIS has re-entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart with their debut album.
The album is gaining attention from the successful tour and an expanding fanbase.
Industry analysts predict increased global popularity for them.

[TV Daily Reporter Kim Ji-ha] The group CORTIS has demonstrated their prowess as 'New Artist of the Year' by re-entering the main Billboard chart in the U.S. over a month since their last appearance. Their debut album ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’ made a comeback in the Billboard 200 chart, placed at 121, as per the December 6 data released by Billboard. This follows their previous entry at 171 on October 25, thanks to activities in the U.S.

The album’s performance at award shows, innovative self-produced content, and stylish magazine covers have attracted a new fanbase, contributing to its chart ascent. Previously, the album debuted at 15 on the Billboard 200 on September 27 and maintained its position for two weeks, marking the highest achievement among debut albums of K-Pop groups excluding project groups. It also holds the record for the highest rank among male K-Pop groups who debuted in the last four years.

‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’ climbed significantly, moving up 30 spots to 14 in the 'Top Album Sales' and 19 spots to 13 in the 'Top Current Album Sales'. In the ‘World Albums’ category, it ascended three spots to reach 4th place. Within about three months of its release, the album surpassed 1.06 million copies sold based on Circle Chart, making it the only million-seller among debuting artists this year. Moreover, it gained immense popularity on Spotify, surpassing 200 million streams as of November 27.

The re-entry of CORTIS is not just a reflection of normal chart rankings but rather signifies the high engagement of their fanbase. This achievement, built on new content and communication with fans, illustrates a solid foundation for their future activities. They are effectively mirroring trends and have secured commercial appeal in both style and musical identity.

As the album achieves substantial success, CORTIS’s position in the K-Pop market is likely to become even more solidified. Their musical approach and the active involvement of their fandom work harmoniously, maximizing potential synergy across various activities. Particularly, their rising popularity has the potential to influence the next generation of K-Pop artists.

CORTIS’s success transcends mere album sales and is closely linked to streaming figures on global audio platforms. This validates their capacity to resonate in international markets, heightening anticipation for their future endeavors.
