She warned that Adore has intentions to dissolve NewJeans.
Allegations of price manipulation add complexity to the situation.
Min Hee-jin's representatives claimed that Adore is attempting to dissolve NewJeans by terminating Daniel's contract. This allegation was the focus of a press conference held on the afternoon of January 28 in Jongno, Seoul. Kim Sun-woong, a lawyer from Law Firm Ji-am representing Min Hee-jin, noted that on December 30, 2025, Min Hee-jin received a lawsuit demanding 10 billion KRW in damages from Adore. He warned that Adore is trying to dissolve NewJeans by targeting the contract with Daniel. Min Hee-jin emphasized that her relationship with Hybe and Adore has concluded, and all members of NewJeans should return. He added that this situation arose despite their belief that the members were returning to focus on NewJeans' future. Additionally, he revealed that a price manipulation conspiracy involving Min Hee-jin, a family member of a NewJeans member, and specific business figures has been noted, and that the Hybe management was already aware of this conspiracy.
This incident underscores the complex relationships between agencies and artists in the K-POP industry. NewJeans has gained global popularity, and issues regarding contracts can significantly impact both fans and the agency. The potential termination of Daniel's contract poses concerns regarding member unity and group stability. Moreover, the allegations of price manipulation by Min Hee-jin further intensify the situation, as they relate to one of K-POP's most prominent groups. This case highlights the unfair circumstances faced by artists and the necessity of holding involved parties accountable. When trust between artists and fans is compromised, it can undoubtedly harm the brand's value.
