Song Gain Cleared of Charges Amid Agency Registration Debacle
Song Gain has been cleared of charges related to her agency’s registration.
Her agency's representative and the company have been referred to prosecutors.
Song's management stated they will cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

Singer Song Gain has been exonerated amidst concerns regarding her agency’s registration status. Her agency, GainDal Entertainment, saw its representative and the company itself referred to the prosecution for failing to register as a cultural arts planning business. Song’s management stated, "The artist has been cleared of any charges and will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation." According to reports from the Seocho Police, the representative A and the agency have been sent to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office for violating laws against the cultural arts industry. They are accused of forming a contract with Song without the proper registration in October 2024. The police confirmed that Song was not registered as an executive or a shareholder, leading to her non-indictment, while A and the agency were forwarded for further legal proceedings.

This incident nearly jeopardized Song Gain’s standing as a cultural artist, but her exoneration is likely to leave her career intact. She has already built a substantial fanbase and can use this crisis to maintain her identity and trust as an artist. Particularly, the issue of unregistered contracts is not uncommon in the entertainment industry, and Song Gain's case highlights the necessity for clearer contract practices. This could serve as an important catalyst for better protection of artists' rights and advancement of the industry moving forward.
