[TVDaily Reporter Kim Jin-suk] The band QWER has officially been selected as the vocalist for the opening theme of the Japanese anime 'Dogu King.' According to their agency, Tamago Production, QWER (Chodan, Magenta, Hina, and Sihyeon) will sing 'Show Down,' the opening theme set to air in July on Fuji TV and Kansai TV. Based on a webtoon, 'Dogu King' narrates the thrilling adventures of tomb raiders seeking powerful relics, focusing on protagonist Seo Joo-hun as he rises to dominance through the powers of these artifacts. Garnering over 200 million views in South Korea alone, the anime has also gained significant traction internationally. Notably, 'Show Down' marks QWER's first-ever anime OST and is performed in Japanese. A preview released on the 16th showcased the band’s lively sound enhanced by their refreshing vocals. Expressing their gratitude, QWER emphasized the importance of this song as their inaugural OST release, suggesting that fans familiar with the anime will find the lyrics particularly engaging. Currently, QWER is successfully conducting their debut world tour across eight cities in Asia.

QWER's 'Show Down' marks a significant turning point in their musical journey. The band's vibrant and upbeat sound is expected to breathe life into the anime characters, creating a lasting impression on their fanbase. The likelihood of successfully fulfilling the role of an anime opening theme could further expand their musical identity.

Moreover, the success of 'Dogu King' presents an opportunity for QWER to attract a new audience. The anime's popularity might naturally draw attention to their music, creating a synergistic effect that can benefit both the band and the show. Fans familiar with the anime will find a deeper emotional connection through the lyrics that resonate with the story.

Additionally, QWER is concurrently on a world tour across Asia, uniquely positioning themselves to lead both an anime OST and international tour. This strategic duality is likely to bolster their presence as global artists and significantly influence their future trajectory.
